Project: Give and Take
Date: 2015
Location: Scuola Internazionale di Grafica, Venice

In 2015, a 3-month Artist-in-Residence stint at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice afforded the opportunity to explore performative actions as part of the printmaking process. Mythogeographical drifts, walking practice and an accompanying research-based blog informed both the process and approach to creating several unique mixed-media monoprints and a numbered series of Giclee proofs.

One action, as part of this methodology, was to walk at night, dressed as a council employee and remove all the left-hand posters from a series of double billboards on a specific route through Dorsoduro and San Polo. The posters were then separated and collaged into new configurations, photographed, digitally reprinted, and then re-pasted onto the vacated sites along the same route.
